A New Age of Miniatures Leagues

A long, long time ago, in an Armada quite different from this one, we used to organize miniatures leagues for 40k and several other hobby miniatures games. We stopped running them because we stopped innovating and the leagues became stale. Times have changed, and it is time to resurrect the Leagues. 

The Age of Sigmar League starts on January 28th, with 40k starting February 18th, and Kill Team starting March 11th. Under this cycle, each league will run for 6 weeks, overlapping the other leagues for 3 weeks each. Time is not the only thing shared. Each set, or Cycle, of Leagues will have a similar theme or mechanism.

This first set of Leagues will be Achievement based. In this set up, winning and losing games is less important than playing. Below is part of the set up for the Age of Sigmar League.

There are 25 achievements, set up in a Bingo style grid, for each player to work towards over the 6-week League. Complete the rows, columns, and diagonals to receive League Points. Add them up and see where you place. Since ties are possible under this system, we will use the games you played and the results of those games as the Tie Breaker.

The 40k League in February and Kill Team League in March will have similar grids.

As the Leagues progress, we will be following up with those playing and not and taking feedback on the Leagues. They will continue to grow with us, evolving to stay fresh and engaging.
